A stone Mas in the hills of Grasse – it started as a dream, to find a home where we could holiday and escape the heat of Dubai. In 2008 it became a reality and in 2010 it became our home for a while.
Hand built by artisans in the 1960’s Mas Peonie was solid and beautiful with stunning views and several terraces house over 300 olive trees. It was originally two residences, the main house being 3 bedrooms with a one bedroom flat on the ground floor.
I was tasked with integrating the two residences and creating a 6 bedroom house. This was a joy and a nightmare. My French was basically non-existent and I was close to tears several times during the renovations. We went over budget and had a break-in but eventually the end results were worth it.
